Bio

Raisa is a senior at Columbia University studying Neuroscience and Behavior on the pre-medical track. She is passionate about research, teaching, and advocacy. She is currently the Co-Coordinator for the Black Undergraduate Mentorship Program (BUMP Biology) and intern-scholar for the Research Cluster on Science and Subjectivity. She has served as the President of Active Minds where she worked to advocate for the de-stigmatization of mental illnesses and Vice President of Synapse where she provided support to individuals with disabilities. She also worked as an Educator for the Lang Youth Medical Program and Advising Fellow for Matriculate where she taught and advised high school students on career development and the college process. In her free time, she enjoys reading books of all genres and memoirs, watching Netflix, taking photos, and trying new food.
