Net Price Calculator Provides Estimate of College Costs
The Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid & Educational Financing has implemented an interactive tool designed to give students and families an early indication of estimated costs if they attend Columbia. Based on data entered, the calculator provides an estimate of the approximate family contribution.
We encourage families to take advantage of this tool to explore our generous need-based financial aid program. Keep in mind that Columbia awards only need-based aid, with no merit-based or athletic-based awards.
Students should never exclude a college from their consideration because of its cost. Columbia can be affordable and accessible to students from every socioeconomic background. We award more than $90 million in scholarships and grants to undergraduates each year and offer one of the most generous need-based financial aid programs to be found in United States colleges.
Admission to Columbia is need-blind for citizens and permanent residents of the United States, and for those in the United States on refugee visas. We do also award financial aid to many foreign students, though financial need is taken into consideration at the time of admission.
Students coming from families with calculated total annual incomes of less than $60,000 and with typical assets, will have an estimated parent contribution of zero. Students coming from families with calculated total annual incomes between $60,000 and $100,000 and with typical assets, will have a significantly reduced the parent contribution. Families earning over $100,000 can still qualify for significant financial aid from Columbia.
