Internships

A first-year student from Boise, Idaho, interns at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as his interest in Art History grows. A civil engineering major fuels his passion to build skyscrapers while working at Turner Construction Company.  A pre-med student works in finance for a summer and then lands a position at Goldman Sachs in Sydney; after an internship in global equity exposed her to options beyond medical school, a new career path was set. The world is their oyster.

More than 5,000 internships open to undergraduates every year. Opportunities to intern all-year round, not just in the summer (the New York City advantage). Professional guidance from the University’s Center for Career Education. Career fairs, resume workshops, tours of internship sites. A campus culture that values hands-on experience. Student-run businesses and a commitment to entrepreneurship. Longstanding ties to the major institutions of both New York and the world. Columbians running international corporations and financial firms, publishing houses and media outlets, arts organizations and cultural institutions, medical centers and research facilities, government agencies and non-profits.
