Summer Arabic Program in Amman, Jordan
The Summer Arabic Program in Amman, Jordan offers beginning to advanced Arabic courses.  Earn credit for one year of Arabic in one summer. Levels include beginning, intermediate, and advanced. Columbia and non-Columbia students are welcome to apply

Summer French Studies in Paris at Reid Hall
Depending on their French level and academic interests, students tailor a course of study during the summer by choosing one, two, or three courses from the program offerings in intensive French language courses or more advanced humanities and social sciences courses.  The program offers a variety of cultural activities and excursions for the students to introduce them to the lively city of Paris.

Summer Italian Cultural Studies in Venice
The Department of Art History and Archaeology and the Department of Italian offer a six week summer program based at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. The program uses an interdisciplinary approach to understanding Italian culture through study of its language, literature, art history, and architecture and the opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation of the rich Venetian culture, traditions and history.

Summer Language Program in Beijing, China
The Columbia in Beijing summer program offers beginning to advanced levels of Chinese for interested students. Students with no Chinese background are now able to start their language studies while living in and exploring Beijing.

In addition, the Office of Global Programs is proud to announce a new Coca Cola Scholarship funded by the Coca Cola Foundation. The OGP will be able to offer twenty need based scholarships each summer to students attending the Columbia in Beijing and Columbia in Shanghai summer programs. The goal of the program is to support the U.S. State Department’s 100,000 strong initiative to increase and diversify the pool of American students studying in China.

Summer Language and Internship Program in Shanghai, China
The Columbia in Shanghai Business and Internship Program offers advanced language study with a focus on business Chinese. Students apply their studies in supervised internships at multinational companies.

Summer Portuguese Program in Rio
The six-week summer program offers intensive training in Intermediate Portuguese for motivated undergraduate and graduate students who have completed Elementary Portuguese for Spanish-Speakers or Elementary Portuguese II. The program is based at the Pontificia Universidade Catolica (PUC-Rio), pronounced 'pookie', a wooded campus located in the Gavea district of Rio.  Courses are taught by the PUC-Rio language instructors and faculty from Columbia.

Summer Program in Advanced and Classical Japanese
The six-week KCJS Summer Program in Advanced and Classical Japanese offers intensive training in advanced and classical Japanese for highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students who have completed at least three years of Japanese or the equivalent. You will be able to enroll in small classes, participate in excursions and cultural activities as well as choose from a variety of housing options.
