Contemporary Theatre and Performance in Paris Join Columbia University School of the Arts in Paris this June and enjoy a three-week immersion in the rich and diverse theatre scene in Paris, one of Europe's most innovative and cosmopolitan arts capitals. Led by School of the Arts professor and former artistic director of the American Repertory Theatre, Gideon Lester, attend performances by leading French and international artists, visit a range of public theatres and art centers, and analyze these experiences in their historical, aesthetic and professional contexts. Professor Lester's friends and colleagues in Paris provide red carpet entree and behind-the-scenes access to some of Paris' most renowned theatres and theater companies, where we'll meet with directors, actors, artistic directors, and other theatre professionals to learn about cultural production in France.
