The Undergraduate Recruitment Committee (URC) shares the Columbia undergraduate experience with the world's best high school students. As tour guides, campus hosts, panelists, event planners, senior interviewers, and even admissions representatives, URC members support the Visitors Center and Office of Undergraduate Admissions in a variety of outreach efforts, both on and off campus.

President Lee C. Bollinger cordially invites you to attend a World Leaders Forum panel discussion entitled, "Columbia University and the Global Sustainability Challenge." The program will convene scientists, scholars, public officials, and student leaders to discuss environmental stewardship through Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg's PlaNYC initiative, Columbia's contributions to the City's sustainable future, and what role New Yorkers play in the global effort.

The Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR) Department of Columbia University will be hosting an information session about IEOR MS and PhD program offerings. This session will also include tips for those applying for graduate programs at Columbia and other institutions. The Department will be presenting information on each MS and PhD program, and strategies to plan ahead to gain admission into a graduate program.

As a sophomore in the School of Engineering and Applied Science you will be asked to declare your major online in just one week. We want to make sure that in the meantime you know about the resources at your disposal and the events being planned to help you think critically about this big step in your undergraduate education.

If you are interested in learning more about studying at Oxford or Cambridge for your junior year, please plan to attend the Oxbridge Scholars Program Information Session on Monday, October 13 from 4:00 to 5:00pm in 207 Math.

Dean Carpenter from Columbia College Study Abroad and Dean McDermott from the Office of Global Programs will be joined by returned students from the program to tell you more about this opportunity and to answer your questions. Applications will be made available at this event.

The McNair Fellows Program, housed within Academic Success Programs and the Center for Student Advising, is a federally funded program that prepares low-income, first-generation and/or underrepresented undergraduates for doctoral study.
