Core Drop Deadline is Tomorrow (Friday, January 29)

The DROP DEADLINE FOR Literature Humanities, Contemporary Civilization, African Civilization, Art Humanities, Music Humanities, and Frontiers of Science is TOMORROW: Friday January 29, by 5 PM. After this date students MAY NOT drop the Core classes listed above. Students are advised that this earlier, Core course drop deadline applies to all students regardless of school affiliation. (This deadline *does not* apply to Global Core courses).

Free Creative Writing Classes for CC Students

Course Descriptions Occasions for Poetry Wednesdays, February 10th-March 3rd 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, Dodge 407 Instructor: LiAundra Grace Occasions are not limited to particular events or circumstances. In fact, any moment can constitute an occasion for writing poetry. In this class we will discuss the nature and content of specific poems as well as that of your poems. We will most likely examine poems by William Carlos Williams, Yeats, Merwin, Marie Howe, Gertrude Stein, Paisley Rekdal, Mark Strand, Mark Bibbins, E.E. Cummings, Wallace Stevens, Langston Hughes, James Galvin, Emerson, D.A. Powell, and Claribel Alegria.

Sustainable development and management of Earth resources (water, minerals, energy, and land) are now recognized globally as an essential goal. A “systems analytic” approach to understanding feedbacks and interactions between human activity and the environment is introduced. Elements of integrated assessment, modeling, forecasting and decision analysis are illustrated by means of case studies of current resource and environment concerns.

Computer Science Major Information Session (2/3)

The Department of Computer Science would like to invite you to our Major Information Session. Professor Adam Cannon, the Associate Chair of the Undergraduate Education, will go over the major requirements, and current CS majors will be there to answer your questions. This is open to first-year and second-year students.
