ATTN SENIORS: COMMENCEMENT TICKET DISTRIBUTION (4/26-4/29)

University Commencement will take place on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. on Low Plaza. For more information regarding this event, please visit the Commencement Web site. Tickets are required for guests and must be picked up in advance by each graduate. Each graduate may receive up to four tickets, which MUST be picked up at one of the scheduled times. Commencement tickets will not be available at any other time.

Final Exams Overlaps & Conflicts

Students who have two exams at the same time or more than two exams on the same calendar day (not just a 24-hour period) as certified by the Registrar, may request an arrangement be made with one of their instructors to take that exam at another mutually available time during the final examination period.

Fall 2010: New Registration Procedure for Premedical Students taking Physics Lab (PHYS 1291)

Beginning in Fall 2010, students will be able to register for their PHYS 1291 and 1292 lab sections via SSOL. Lab sections will no longer be assigned by the department, and students will be able to choose which lab section they want. Students should select one section of the lab, listed as PHYS W1293, when they register for PHYS W1291. (Please note that PHYS W1291 replaces the newly merged PHYS V1291 and PHYS F1291.)

New Summer Study Abroad Fellowship for Summer 2010

Columbia is pleased to announce a new summer study abroad fellowship for summer 2010 (dates June 25—July 15) with Columbia alumnus Greg Wyatt at the ancient site of Ephesos.  The purpose of this summer workshop will be to introduce students to the reflective thought and artistic practices required to draw and paint ancient Greek sites in situ. This workshop will be led under the supervision of Greg Wyatt, Columbia ’71.
