SIPA’s Five-Year Joint Bachelor/Master Program Information Session (12/3)

SIPA will be holding an information session for students who may be interested in the 5-year program on December 3, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in room 1512 IAB.  Please feel free to send any of your students to the session and please feel free to attend yourself.

Info Session: Columbia Program in Tropical Biology and Sustainability in Kenya (9/29)

In partnership with Princeton, Columbia runs a field semester abroad program in the Spring focusing on ecology, evolutionary biology, conservation biology, environmental engineering, and sustainable development. Based at Princeton's Mpala Research Centre, student also travel to places such as the forested slopes of Mt. Kenya, the wildlife-rich savannas of Laikipia, and the coffee and tea plantations of western Kenya.

Info Session: Columbia in Beijing at Tsinghua University (9/24)

Columbia University in Beijing provides a rare opportunity for advanced students to directly enroll in a broad range of courses at Tsinghua University, one of China's top institutions. In order to apply, students must have completed at least three years of college-level Chinese, preferably more, or the equivalent, and have a firm grasp of reading and writing in Chinese. Students who have completed at least two years of Chinese in heritage tracks (W track at Columbia) may also apply. Come learn more on Wednesday, September 24th from 4-5 p.m.

Interested in joining CU-EMS? Come to an info session this week! (9/3) & (9/4)

Information sessions will be held on 9/3 and 9/4 at 8:30pm in Hamilton 408. We will be talking about joining CU-EMS as well as the sponsorship for the EMT-B course that is starting on 9/8. Students who are interested must attend one information session to sign up for an interview slot.

Info Session: NEW Columbia Middle Eastern and North African Studies Summer Program in Amman/Paris (2/27)

Starting in summer 2014, Columbia offers a new summer program, focusing on the languages, history and culture of the Maghreb region and its relations with the Middle East and France. The program, based first in Amman and then moving to Paris, allows students to take coursework in Arabic (first through fourth year offered) and a seminar on the Maghreb region, including the topics of migration, diaspora and transnationalism in the context of music, literature and film. Come learn more about the program from the Faculty Directors!

The requirements for the Biomedical Engineering major are changing, and current first-year students who declare BME next year will be the first class affected.  Information obtained from this session will help with academic planning and registration for future semesters.

Study Abroad General Info Session (2/4)

Are you thinking about studying abroad next year? Come to our General Information session to learn about all of the possibilities of integrating a term or year abroad into your time at Columbia. Topics covered will include: eligibility, types of programs, language requirements, programs in English, programs for scientists & engineers, credit, and more. Students who have studied abroad will speak about their experiences abroad and answer questions.


An information session for Columbia University undergraduate students is scheduled about the SEAS  “MS Express” application process, a simplified application to MS programs for seniors with a 3.500 or better GPA.

Please attend this session to learn more about this simplified application process. Representatives from the departments will be on hand during the Q & A session to address any questions students may have about MS programs in specific  departments.
