Just prior to the New Student Orientation Program, the Center for Student Advising launched a Comprehensive Advising Management System (CAMS), a multi-faceted software system that allows for on-line appointment scheduling and automated notification of student arrival. The system streamlines student traffic in the Center and enables advisers to communicate more effectively with their advisees.

The system was introduced to new students on Sunday, August 28. Within 24 hours, over 60% of incoming students had scheduled an appointment to meet with their adviser during NSOP.

The Center advised over 97% of all incoming students by week’s end.    

CAMS was launched to continuing students on Friday, September 2^nd and is also available to alumni who have registered with the Office of Preprofessional Advising so the Center can continue to help these students apply to the law and health professions.
