The CGI U Outstanding Commitment Awards launched in 2008 to provide financial support to innovative, student-driven initiatives. The awards recognize students and student organizations from a variety of higher education institutions and a variety of backgrounds.

Winners will receive funding to implement their CGI U commitments: new, specific, and measurable plans to make a difference in one or more of CGI U’s five global challenge areas. The challenge areas are:  Education, Environment & Climate Change, Peace & Human Rights, Poverty Alleviation, and Public Health.
