Professor Yared teaches the core course Global Economic Environment. His research examines a wide range of issues in macroeconomics and political economy. One branch of research explores the effect of political institutions on economic phenomena such as growth, trade, and public spending and debt. A second branch of research explores the impact of macroeconomic forces on political phenomena such as democratic transitions, coups, and violent conflict. His research has been published in leading academic journals.
