Contemporary French Theatre and Performance (12/3)

You are invited to an information session for a new summer program in Contemporary French Theatre and Performance. Date: December 3, 2009 Time: 6-7 pm Place: LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies on the third floor of Dodge (just past the entrance) Join Columbia University School of the Arts in Paris this summer led by graduate Theatre Arts Professor Gideon Lester. Enjoy a red carpet to the enchanting Parisian Theatre scene, attend performances by leading French and international artists, meet with directors to learn about cultural production in France and analyze these experiences in their historical, aesthetic and professional contexts. This credit-bearing course will be taught in English and is open to currently enrolled Columbia/Barnard undergraduate or graduate student, a current or recent visiting student, or a transfer student admitted for fall 2010 who is interested in broadening his or her international perspective of contemporary theatre and performance, and/or is engaged in the arts, drama, or theatre studies. Students interested in French cultural studies, the production and reception of literary/dramatic texts and artistic work are also encouraged to apply.
