The annual Columbia College speech competition for the George William Curtis Prize in Oration will be held this year on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 1:00 pm in 303 Hamilton Hall

Open to Columbia College students, the contest offers cash prizes to the winner in each of the two categories, informative (4-6 minutes) and persuasive (5-7 minutes). 

Registration starts at 12 Noon on Friday, April 20.

Alternative Break Program Board Member Position Openings

The Alternative Break Program is currently seeking Board Member applicants for the 2012-2013 academic year. The Alternative Break Program (ABP) is a student-led, administrative managed program that provides guidance and financial support for students’ service trips over spring, summer, and winter breaks. The ABP seeks to foster student leadership development and a life-long commitment to service and civic engagement by supporting student-driven service trips.

We would like to invite you to the first annual ABP Welcome Back Reception. You will have the chance to hear from the trips that participated in ABP this past year as well as trips that will be embarking this summer. This is an opportunity to learn about the possibility of participating in the ABP and receiving guidance and funding for service trips in the years to come.
