Herbert Deresiewicz Summer Research Fellowship
The Herbert Deresiewicz Summer Research Fellowship
Established in 2011, in memory of Prof. Herbert Deresiewicz, a long time SEAS faculty member and department chairman who held a deep and abiding love for undergraduate teaching , the Herbert Deresiewicz Summer Research Fellowship provides support for a Columbia College or SEAS student who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and whose interest in science has been kindled by his or her experiences at Columbia. The recipient will engage in full-time laboratory research on the Morningside Heights campus in one of the following Columbia University academic departments: Biological Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering. The winner will be selected on merit by the Chair of COSI (the Committee on Science Instruction) in consultation with the Chairs of the relevant Columbia departments.
