Ignorance: How It Drives Science Panel Discussion (11/14)

Ignorance: How It Drives Science Panel Discussion
Wednesday, November 14, 6:00 p.m. Miller Theatre

In science facts are unreliable—what we know for certain is always being revised and upended by the next generation of scholars. Rather, as Professor Stuart Firestein argues in his new book Ignorance: How It Drives Science, it is ignorance that fuels the production of knowledge by shaping our understanding of what is known and unknown, prompting new lines of inquiry and re-examination of apparently settled issues. Please join us for an interdisciplinary panel discussion on these questions and other issues raised by Professor Firestein’s book. Free of charge; advance registration requested.
