Nervousness can hide what you have to offer, but confidence, ease, and enthusiasm allow you to shine and will win employers over. In this workshop, you will learn how you can bring these qualities to your next interview and present your best self. You'll have the opportunity to practice with interactive exercises, receive coaching and/or watch others be coached. Attendees are asked to prepare answers to the following interview questions: 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. Describe a time when you worked on a team. In addition, we are seeking 4 to 6 volunteers to do a mini-mock interview and receive personal coaching. If interested, please email Katherine Jo at kkj2102@columbia.edu. This workshop will be led by Adam Grupper, President of Act Professional. Adam Grupper is a professional actor, coach and trainer specializing in the application of acting techniques and principles of theatre to organizational and business settings. As a presentation skills trainer and consultant he has provided individual coaching and designed workshops for clients including Estee Lauder, UNICEF, WITNESS and Lighthouse International. He is also a lead trainer and facilitator with the consulting company Performance of a Lifetime, conducting workshops for leading businesses including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Citigroup and Lehman Brothers. Since 2000, he has been on the faculty of CAP21, conducting undergraduate classes in audition technique through New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Adam graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in psychology. He has been honored by the American Society for Training and Development with the Ronda J. Ormont Award. As a performer, he has received the National Institute for Music Theater's Mary Martin Prize, the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia's Barrymore nomination for best actor and numerous audiobook honors from Audiofile Magazine, Publishers Weekly, iTunes and the Audio Publishers Association.
