The Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR), in conjunction with Columbia Business School, is very excited to introduce a new graduate program: the Master of Science in Management Science and Engineering (MS&E). It reflects the next logical step in the longstanding close collaboration between the IEOR Department at Columbia’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Decision, Risk and Operations (DRO) Division at Columbia Business School. This new program enhances and replaces our successful Master of Science program in Engineering Management Systems.

With strong technical training, a focus on management and exciting career opportunities, this program is an ideal next step for seniors with a strong quantitative background and excellent communication skills. For more information about the program, including an in-depth look at the curriculum, please visit the MS&E website at http://mse.ieor.columbia.edu  and attend an information session on Friday, October 22, 2010 or November 12, 2010 from 12pm to 1pm in Room 303 of the Mudd Building.

We are delighted to inform you that we are offering a simplified early admissions procedure for Columbia University seniors with a current GPA of 3.4 or greater, which includes a GRE waiver. The early admissions applicants need to provide the following:

• An unofficial transcript
• A personal statement
• A resume or CV
• One or two letters of recommendation
