Sophomores and Juniors: Interested in an incredible summer internship experience? Applications deadline extended!

This is your last chance to apply to positions across the country and around the world through CCE’s summer internship programs!

Through Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO), Columbia University Internship California Program (CU IN), and the Science Technology Engineering Program (STEP), your summer can include traveling, a great internship, developing key professional skills, making great connections with employers and alumni and, yes, fun.

Where can I work?

Internships with these programs are available in Amman, Beijing, Hong Kong, London Los Angeles, New York, Shanghai, San Francisco, and Singapore
, including healthcare, education, finance, architecture, not-for-profit, consulting, media, science research, engineering and more! Search “CEO”, “CU IN” or “STEP” in LionSHARE to see a list of positions.  See the available CEO positions at the end of the email – the deadline is January 30th!

What does interning through one of these programs offer me that I can’t get elsewhere?


Program benefits include becoming part of a community dedicated to your professional and personal development. You’ll take part in pre-departure trainings, social and networking events, and post-program reflections. You’ll mingle with guest speakers, cultivate relationships with Columbia alumni around the world, all the while building transferable skills that you can carry with you to your next opportunity.  Additionally, international internships include housing, visa coordination support, and may include financial support.

How do I apply?

You can’t apply unless you attend the Secrets of the Successful Application workshop.


All current sophomores and juniors at Columbia College, General Studies, and from the School for Engineering and Applied Sciences are eligible to apply.  This mandatory workshop will discuss:

  • How to enhance your candidacy as a CEO/CU IN/STEP applicants
  • What happens to your application once it is submitted.
  • Information about the program. 
  • Details of the positions available by city.

Please note, if you do not attend one of the mandatory workshops prior to applying to the program, your application will be withdrawn from the candidate pool.
