First and Second Year students who are interested in applying for the field course to Mono Lake, California over spring break must have their application in by Tuesday, November 10.
Spring Break Field Course to Mono Lake, California 2pts credit - open to first and second year students and is limited to 20 students.
This course is given through the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Many of you my know of the very popular trip to Death Valley with Professor Nick Christie- Blick. This year Professor Sidney Hemming will take a group to Mono Lake, California.

The November 10th Deadline to apply for the field trip to Mono Lake, CA is fast approaching! This is a week-long field trip course over spring break (March 13-20). First and Second year students may apply to participate on the trip; applications will be evaluated and you will be given a decision in time to register for your Spring classes. This trip is an opportunity for you to explore many aspects of geology; volcanoes, past climate change, closed-basin lakes, ecology of Mono Lake.... and the list goes on! Mono Lake, CA is a beautiful area, and well worth exploring. Prior to the field trip, the class will meet once a week to discuss readings on the history of the area.This course is worth 2 credits, and is graded on a Pass/No Pass basis; the idea is for you to learn and have fun doing so.
