Columbia Community Service Office has put together a list of local community organizations who have volunteer opportunities for students.  The list can be found here as well as at the bottom of this post.

Please know that many of the organizations have limited resources, and intelligent, self-motivating student-volunteers can be extremely helpful to the agencies, and can assist them with executing daily goals.
