Support for the first year class
CPS is pleased to offer a support group to incoming first years in CC and SEAS. As exciting as the transition to college is, it is not without its stresses; this group will afford first years an opportunity to share their experiences and learn from one another how best to take full advantage of the academic and social opportunities-- and how best to meet the new challenges-- of life on this most dynamic of urban campuses, while perhaps making a few new friends along the way.
Interested first years are invited to contact either Dr. Wendy Greenspun at firstname.lastname@example.org or Dr. Dan Greenspun at email@example.com. (Yes—we have two Dr. Greenspuns at CPS, and they are un-related. We also have another 3 dozen or so counselors who are not named Greenspun, and invite students to check our website to see who they are and to learn more about the other 17 groups we will be offering this fall, which range from procrastination workshops, to “Relationships 101” to support groups for international students, for survivors of sexual abuse, and for women of color to groups designed to help students tolerate distress, manage moods, and handle going home for the holidays, among others.
