University Writing option for non-native English speakers
For the Fall 2012 semester, there will be one section of University Writing geared specifically toward English Language Learners (non-native speakers of English) who wish to focus more specifically on issues of second-language acquisition and adjusting to a new academic culture.
This section will be taught by a specially trained instructor, who will provide extra support and instruction on sentence-level issues, and highlight common expectations of American academic writing, including the use of sources, paragraph length and structural organization. The section will otherwise be identical to the typical University Writing section.
If you wish to register for this section, please contact either Justin Snider (firstname.lastname@example.org) in the Center for Student Advising or your own advising dean. The section will meet in the Fall 2012 semester on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:40 am to 12:55 pm.
