Seniors, with respect to hiring cycles, we found in our 2012 graduating student survey that more than one third of CC, SEAS and GS respondents accepted job offers between March and May so if you haven’t found a job yet, don't panic! Hiring doesn't all happen in the fall semester.

Intermediate, Advanced, and Senior level workshops require an application and professor approval before a student is permitted to register. The deadline for submitting the application and any corresponding writing samples is 4:00 pm on Tuesday, August 27th to the Undergraduate Creative Writing office in 617 Kent.
Students can expect to receive an e-mail regarding their application status (approved, wait-listed, not accepted) before the first class meeting. If accepted into a workshop, students must attend the first session or risk losing a place on the roster.
The annual Columbia College speech competition for the George William Curtis Prize in Oration will be held this year on Wednesday, May 8, 2012 at 1:00 pm in 303 Hamilton Hall.
Open to Columbia College students, the contest offers cash prizes to the winner in each of the two categories, informative (4-6 minutes) and persuasive (5-7 minutes).
Registration starts at 12 Noon on Friday, 26 April.
