QUICK TIPS FOR THE DAY OF CLASS DAY:
- In order for all parents to have a clear view of the ceremony,
we have hired a professional photographer who will take photos of your
student on stage and off. You will be able to purchase these
photographs at a later date. We ask that you remain in your seats for
the entire ceremony including the procession of faculty. For more
information regarding Photography, please visit Island Photography.
- All access gates (see map)
(at 114th and 116th on Broadway and Amsterdam) will be open to the
general public during both Engineering and College Class Days.
- The gates, which lead into the South Field lawn (see map) seating area, are open one hour before the ceremony begins.
- Parking
- there is no parking available. A list of parking garages can be found at the following website: http://www.columbia.edu/about_columbia/parking.html. Drivers are advised to drop off and pick up passengers at or near the 114th street gates at Broadway and Amsterdam.
- Weather - Guests should bring a raincoat, umbrella and/or poncho if it looks like rain. The ceremonial activities will continue outdoors on the lawn rain or shine so please be advised to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
- After the Class Day Ceremony for both CC and SEAS, you may meet your student on the Hamilton Lawn (see map) for a reception. Please note that both Class Day receptions and The Family Appreciation Reception will provide kosher alternatives.
- For families and guests who are unable to join us for Class Day,
the Commencement Office will provide a live web cast of both ceremonies.
