2010-2011 Application Process for Continuing Students

Continuing students must reapply for financial aid each academic year. The deadline for continuing students to submit All financial aid application materials is May 5th, 2010.

Late financial aid applicants may be penalized by having some of their Columbia grant eligibility replaced by additional work. If you have extenuating circumstances that will delay completion of your financial aid application, please contact your financial aid advisor before May 5 to request a deadline extension.

Profile data will be sent electronically from CSS to Columbia so you do not need to send us copies or printouts of your application.

2009 Tax Returns & W-2 Forms

Submit signed copies of your and your parents’ 2009 tax returns (including all schedules, W-2 forms, and any business returns) to the following address:

If your parents will not file a 2009 federal tax return, they must submit a Parent Tax Non-Filer certification (available from our Downloads page) and provide a current statement of earnings from your parents’ employers that states their yearly earnings.  All tax/income documents (if not already in English) should be officially translated into English.

If 2009 federal income taxes are not available by March 1, 2010, please submit 2009 W-2 forms and 2008 federal income tax returns (personal and business returns: including all schedules and W-2 forms). Please note that a financial aid award will not be finalized until the 2009 federal income tax returns have been reviewed by the Columbia financial aid office.

Please do NOT send state income tax returns.
