Academic regalia (cap and gown) is required of all graduates participating in the Baccalaureate Service, Class Day, and Commencement.

Order

For bachelor's degree candidates, it is not necessary to pre-order academic regalia. The Columbia University bookstore will hold its annual Grad Fair between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on March 12-14, 2013. Students should make arrangements to purchase a cap and gown at the Grad Fair. Bookstore staff will be on-hand to assist with measurements and sizing.

Students who were unable to attend the Grad Fair may purchase a cap and gown by visiting the bookstore during regular business hours.

Cost

The cost for a cap, gown, and tassle for a bachelor's degree candidate is $50. Graduates may keep their academic regalia as a souvenir.

Schedule

• March 12-14 Place your order at the Grad Fair in the Columbia University bookstore (2922 Broadway) 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

• April 15 Last day to place an order for guaranteed delivery of custom purchased regalia

• May 7 Late fees increase due to rush processing (+$40)

• May 9 Rental gown distribution begins and continues through Commencement day at the Columbia University bookstore

• June 7 Last day to return rental gowns to the Columbia University bookstore (2922 Broadway)
