Webcasts & Photography

Webcasts

Families and graduates who are unable to attend the ceremonies may view live webcasts of the Class Day and Commencement exercises. The webcasts, and instructions for viewing, will be available on the Commencement website on the day of the respective ceremony.

At both Class Day and Commencement, the live webcast will be streamed to large television monitors at the event. These monitors will provide additional viewing opportunities for graduates and guests.

Video recordings of each University Commencement and Class Day are expected to be available on Columbia University’s YouTube and iTunes U channels 24-48 hours after each event concludes. Archived webcasts of the 2012 ceremonies are currently available for viewing in RealPlayer and Windows Media Player formats.

Photography

At Class Day, a professional photographer will take pictures of each graduate both on- and off-stage. Graduates and families will be given the option to purchase pictures and image packages directly from the photographer. Graduates will receive an e-mail from the photographer in the days following the graduation ceremonies with proofs and instructions for ordering.

Because professional images of each student will be made available, we ask that guests remain in their seats throughout the ceremony and refrain from standing to take pictures. This will ensure an enjoyable experience and maximize viewing opportunities for all in attendance.

In the spring semester, information about the photographer and packages available for purchase will be added to this website.
