Study Abroad Credit

If you studied abroad but your credit has not yet been processed, visit the Study Abroad web site to find out what you need to do to ensure that credits are transferred.

PLEASE NOTE:

• You do not receive a flat 15.5 credits. You receive credit for the work you actually completed while abroad.
• You must have earned a grade of C- or better in each course for which you want to transfer credit.

When your credits are awarded, you will still see a note on your transcript and DAR that says "Full-time study abroad program - 0 points." That is a dummy entry to indicate that you were away that term. Your credits will be listed as transfer credits under the name of the institution which sponsored your study abroad program.. It will not list individual courses or grades. If you want graduate schools or employers to have that information, you must request a transcript directly from the sponsoring institution. We cannot give you a photocopy of the transcript from your file.

Courses Taken Outside Columbia

If you are seeking credit from courses taken outside of Columbia University, you need to speak with a class dean at your Advising Center regarding the specifics of your situation.
