Academic Opportunities for Juniors
Off-Campus Study
Study Abroad(academic
year, semester and/or summer)
- Students contemplating going abroad in their Junior
Year should contact
the center early to make plans, discuss arrangements,
and receive clearance.

may be study
abroad scholarships for academic year, semester,
and/or summer study.
Domestic Exchange Programs - Students
may also conduct an off-campus study for a semester
or year at either Spelman
College or Howard
University.
Fellowships
If you are interested in applying for a fellowship,
your first stop should be Columbia's Student Affairs
Fellowships
Web site, which contains a listing of fellowships
available to juniors). We suggest that students consult
with a class dean before and during the application
process.

Eligibility and Deadlines: Please
keep in mind that pre-applications for some post-graduate
study, including Fulbright, Rhodes and Marshall
fellowships, are due during spring of junior year.

Joint Bachelors Programs
3-2 Combined
Plan Program for CC Students: The 3-2 Combined Plan
Program provides CC students with the opportunity to
earn both the B.A. at Columbia College and the B.S.
at SEAS in five years.
- Eligibility: CC Students must
apply in their Junior year to SEAS
- Deadlines: Applications are
available in December, and deadlines are not
until late January.

4-1 Combined Plan
Program for SEAS Students:
The 4-1 Combined Program provides SEAS students with the opportunity to earn both the B.S. at SEAS and the B.A. at CC in five years.
- Eligibility: Students must apply in their
Junior year to CC.
- Deadlines: Applications are available in December,
and deadlines are not until late January.
- Contact: Students interested in the Combined Plan should

Joint Masters Programs
Public Policy
and Administration Five-Year Program with Columbia's
School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA):
(The International Affairs Five-Year Program offers students
the opportunity to earn both the B.A. and M.I.A. (or M.P.A.)
degrees in five years.
- Eligibility and Deadlines: The
Junior Senior Advising Center will nominate candidates
in the spring of their junior year.

Accelerated
Interdisciplinary Legal Education Program
(AILE) with Columbia Law School:
- Eligibility and Deadlines: Students
matriculate at the Law School after their junior year,
having completed the required 93 points including the
College Core requirements and a concentration. Students
must apply in their Junior year.

Other Special Programs
Juilliard
Program - Exceptionally talented Columbia College
students have access to instrumental and voice instruction
at Juilliard. A joint degree program is also available.
Auditions for both programs with the Juilliard School
are conducted in early March for fall admission. The
application deadline is December 1 for March auditions.

Barnard Education
(Teaching) - Students interested in elementary or
secondary school teaching should apply to the Barnard
Education Program in the fall of their junior year,
or obtain the M.A.T. degree following graduation. For
