The Sansum Diabetes Research Institute’s Summer Internship Program supports a variety of research interests and projects but has a primary focus on diabetes mellitus. Interns 1) attend weekly staff meetings, 2) attend research program presentations by staff and visiting scientists, and 3) learn to critically review pertinent literature. There are weekly educational sessions on diabetes mellitus, its treatment and complications, the physiology of the pancreas and various organ systems affected by diabetes.
Eligibility:
Applicants should have completed 2 or 3 years of college, preferably with scientific course work and laboratory experience. Students with an interest in or goal of a career in medicine or the biologic sciences are encouraged to apply.
