ASM-Microbiology Undergraduate Research Fellowship (ASM-MURF) is aimed at highly competitive minority undergraduate students who wish to and have demonstrated the ability to pursue graduate careers in microbiology. Students will conduct full time summer research with an ASM member at any US institution other than their own. Funding available up to $5850.

Eligibility: 
Underrepresented minority group in the sciences as well as a US citizen or permanent resident. Student also must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate. Must be either a freshman with college level research experience or a sophomore, junior or senior who will not graduate before the completion of the program. Applicants must also have taken intro courses in Biology, Chemistry and preferably Microbiology. Lab research experience is also desirable.
