ASB: NYC Performing Arts 2013 Application

The Alternative Spring Break: New York City Performing Arts will be a six-day, multidisciplinary program of events focusing on professional performing arts in New York City.  Over the course of the six days, students will attend 5-6 quality performances spanning the disciplines of theatre, music, and dance.  As well, we will have a professional performing arts group in residence on campus during this time and participants in the ASB will participate in workshops and view their process.  We also anticipate attending talkbacks from leading practitioners and workshops covering a wide variety of topics from creating new work to audience development to the way in which arts organizations in New York operate at the professional level.   Students will also have the opportunity to reflect on their own work and how they can use their Spring Break experience to affect the performing arts community on campus.
