Description
The UCLA Pre-Medical Enrichment Program (UCLA PREP) is a unique non-residential program designed to provide premedical students from disadvantaged backgrounds with the means to strengthening their ability and readiness to study medicine. Full participation in the UCLA PREP program allows participants to enhance their chances of being accepted to medical school and succeeding once there.
Participants will engage in an extensive and lively curriculum. Through the course of a week, students will be able to obtained highly focused information to become competitive applicants. Through MCAT strategies, Personal Statement workshops, Practice Interviews, Financial Planning, Application Procedures & Strategies, Interviewing Skills, and Networking.
This invaluable experience allows PREP students to interact with established DGSOM Staff, Faculty, and Students who will give them more insight on Medical schooladmissions process as well as on student life and medical school curriculum. Students will project themselves into a variety of roles and will make more realistic self-evaluations of their own motivation and intentions surrounding their career choice. In addition, mentorship relationships will be developed from these experiences.
