Niki was born in Iowa City, Iowa, but has also lived in Florida, North Dakota, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, California, Vermont and, since August 2001, New York. Niki holds a B.A. in women's studies and modern culture and media from Brown University, an M.A. in English and comparative literature from the University of Wisconsin and an M.P.H. in the history and ethics of public health and medicine from Columbia University's School of Public Health. In her free time, Niki enjoys staving off old age through biking, yoga, and laughter.
