Multicultural Greek Council Rush and Membership Intake
The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is the self-governing student organization that provides guidelines and support to its member organizations. The MGC consists of organizations with national membership in the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the National Asian Pacific American Panhellenic Association (NAPA). Each organization is represented at MGC Meetings to discuss and vote on matters concerning member organizations and the Greek community.

Columbia University has 12 culturally-based member organizations of the MGC; six of which are sororities. These chapters recruit through a processes known as Rush or Intake. Although membership consist primarily of men of color, they are open to all women at Columbia.
The rush/intake process for every chapter is defined by its national organization. Throughout the year, chapters hold social, informational and educational events, which provide you with the opportunity to meet the members of each organization. Panhellenic Association
The Panhellenic Association (Panhel) is the self-governing student organization that provides guidelines and support to its member organizations. Panhel consists of organizations with national membership in the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). Each organization is represented at Panhel Meetings to discuss and vote on matters concerning member organizations and the Greek community. Panhellenic assists in establishing guidelines for membership recruitment, service opportunities, and social activities for NPC sorority members.
