Welcome to the East Campus Residential Area of Columbia University! Overseeing the area is Kristen Sylvester, Associate Director for the Office of Residential Programs. Kristen supports the two residence halls that comprise the East Campus Residential Area: East Campus and Wien Hall. The Residential Programs office for East Campus is in EC 310, where Kristen can be found and residents are encouraged to stop by with any ideas, concerns, or questions. Kristen’s contact information is: ks2696@columbia.edu and 212-854-7410.

There are over 1000 upper-class students living in either East Campus or Wien Hall and all of the residents comprise an extremely diverse community. To highlight some, there are Special Interest Community members (part of Casa Latina, Pan African House, Metta House, Community Health House, or 114 Rue de Fleurus) Sorority and Fraternity students, as well as Transfer and 3/2 students, religious and cultural groups, and athletics team members, just to name a few.

In addition to one Faculty-in-Residence (FIR), Professor Robert Harrist, there are 23 Resident Advisers (RAs), 2 Community Advisers (CAs), 2 Graduate Assistants (GAs), and 1 Associate Director (AD), all of whom are here to support and engage residents in their living environment. As well, there are professionals who work here including the Alice! Health Services Staff located on the 1st floor of Wien Hall, Counseling and Psychological Services on the 2nd floor of EC, and hardworking Facilities staff. As you can see, the East Campus Area is staffed with a wide-array of staff and resources for students.

There are fantastic facilities in the East Campus Area. In East Campus, there is a 2nd floor lounge complete with a piano and large-screen TV, computer labs on floors 2, 10, and 18, and satellite gyms on floors 8 and 16. In Wien there is a 1st floor lounge with a piano, a kitchen on the 2nd floor with a flat-screen TV and appliances, and a computer lab on the 2nd floor.
