West Campus
West Campus is also home to the first year cohort of 3/2 students, two Special Interest Communities and a dynamic, dedicated and enthusiastic Residential Programs staff that is committed to building strong relationships and building the Columbia community as a whole. The Residential Programs staff consists of an Associate Director, two Graduate Assistants, twenty seven Resident Advisers, two Community Advisers and a Faculty in Residence, Professor Patricia Grieve, Nancy and Jeffrey Marcus Professor in the Humanities. Together, these individuals work along side West Campus residents to make their academic year experience one that is as rewarding and successful as possible.
Community is key in the West Campus area. People have taken great pride in decorating and maintaining their community spaces. Study breaks have been innovative and fun as students study in their PJs over cereal and Saturday Morning Cartoons. Check out the Community Initiatives section for more information on events held in West Campus. Community Standards are continually being discussed and re-evaluated and the Residential Programs staff has taken on their role with much enthusiasm and constantly looks for innovative ideas and events.
