Fifth Floor Policy

SDA Darkroom Policies and Procedures

The Office of Student Development and Activities oversees the utilization of the SDA Darkroom located in Room 510J, Alfred Lerner Hall.

Inquiries regarding the facility can be emailed to sdadarkroom@columbia.edu.

Registration at the beginning of each academic semester is done on a first come-first served basis by emailing your request to: sdadarkroom@columbia.edu.

Listed below are the SDA Darkroom registration specifics. Please be advised that these are subject to change.

  • $65 per semester for Columbia, Barnard, and SEAS undergraduate students with valid CUID.
  • $95 per semester for all graduate students with valid CUID.
  • Payment by check or money order made payable to Columbia University.
  • One time slot of three-hour duration allotted per registrant (for a total of three hours) per week.
  • Extra time slots ONLY if available and at the discretion of the Darkroom Manager. An Hourly Rate of $15 per hour applies to requests for extra time.

FIVE DAY advance notice to sdadarkroom@columbia.edu required to change time slots or receive refund is required.
Supplies include basic printing/processing chemicals and equipment for registered users. Paper stock is not provided.
