Advising in the Senior Year
Columbia offers students a multiple-source advising system, combining one-on-one
advising with a variety of supplemental outreach resources and services. To this end,
the following resources are provided:
General Advising
Advising Centers - Class
deans in the advising centers advise CC and SEAS students
on various topics, including general academic progress
and other opportunities both within Columbia and beyond.
Major Advising
In most departments, a faculty advisor is assigned to majors and concentrators
in their junior and senior years. This faculty advisor can answer questions related
to the requirements of that major or concentration. For more information, please visit the
Columbia College bulletin and the
Fu Foundation for Engineering and Applied Science bulletin.

Advising Resources @ Columbia web site -
This site presents a vast amount of information that will help students locate the right kind of adviser
and/or resource for a particular kind of question. The site also includes a
"major comparator" tool,
which analyzes all majors in terms of the same set of basic questions, so that students can compare academic
programs in detail as a prelude to talking to advisers about particular majors.
