Senior Year Timeline

Where dates are unspecified, please check the Registrar's web site for the current academic calendar.

August/
September

  • Finalize your fall schedule during the change of program period early September - check the Registrar's web site for exact dates)
  • Investigate possibilities for law school and graduate school. Request application materials
  • Investigate fellowships, because some will come up in September and October
  • Send the your transcript to Dean McDermott if you studied abroad in the spring
  • Open recommendation files and begin updating your resume
  • Check your DAR for accuracy
  • Recruiting begins in CCE for investment banking, finance and engineering jobs

October

  • International students wanting to stay in the US after May should investigate visa options
  • Request all recommendations. Work on law and graduate school applications

November

  • Register for spring classes (mid-November)
  • November 1: deadline for February 2005 degree candidates to apply for the degree
  • Mid-November: deadline to change grade option (P/F, R)
  • November 15: requests for law school certifications are due
  • Recommendation files for law and graduate school must be complete by Thanksgiving, along with the requests to mail your recommendations
  • Check your DAR for accuracy
  • Attend the Apply for the Degree Event

December

  • December 1: deadline for May 2005 degree candidates to apply for the degree
  • Pass final exams

February

  • Degrees are conferred for those who completed degree requirements in December
  • Mid-February: Pre-medical deadline, and interviewing begins
  • May graduation e-mails and mailings begin

March

  • The May graduation clearance process begins
  • CCE Career Fairs
  • May graduation e-mails and mailings begin
  • The job cycle begins for those interested in non-profit, education, publishing, etc. (into April) Visit CCE for more information.
  • Check your DAR for accuracy

April

May

  • Pass your LAST final exams
  • Senior Week activities
  • SEAS Class Dinner
  • Awards ceremonies
  • Pick up your cap and gown
  • CC and SEAS Class Days and University Commencement ceremonies; diploma distribution
