The 4-1 Program at Columbia College

The 4-1 Program provides students in The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science the opportunity to obtain a B.A. degree from the College with one additional year of study after completion of four years of study and fulfillment of all requirements for the B.S. degree in engineering. Students who are interested in the 4-1 Program must declare their interest in the spring of their sophomore year and plan their next three years of study with the program advisor.

Requirements:

The program will be selective, and admission will be based on the following factors: granting of the BS at SEAS at the end of the fourth year; fulfillment of the College Core requirements by the end of the fourth year at SEAS; a minimum GPA of 3.0 in College Core and other courses; and the successful completion of any prerequisites for the College major or concentration.

Students should contact their class dean.
