The 4-1 Program at Columbia College
The 4-1 Program provides students in The Fu Foundation
School of Engineering and Applied Science the
opportunity to obtain a B.A. degree from the College
with one additional year of study after completion
of four years of study and fulfillment of all
requirements for the B.S. degree in engineering.
Students who are interested in the 4-1 Program
must declare their interest in the spring of their
sophomore year and plan their next three years
of study with the program advisor.
Requirements:
The program will be selective, and admission
will be based on the following factors: granting
of the BS at SEAS at the end of the fourth year;
fulfillment of the College
Core requirements by the end of the fourth
year at SEAS; a minimum GPA of 3.0 in College
Core and other courses; and the successful completion
of any prerequisites for the College major or
concentration.
