Peer Academic Skills Consultants are student leaders who assist students in a one-on-one setting with academic skill building. Consultants also run one academic support workshop a semester. This is a paid opportunity.

Meet with a Peer Academic Skills Consultant

If you are interested in meeting with one of our Peer Academic Skills Consultants, please fill out the form below.

Peer Academic Skills Consultants can help students:

Develop effective learning strategies;
Identify barriers to learning by providing them with individualized approaches; and
Assist students with a variety of topics, including time management, setting goals, note-taking, active reading and study strategies, effective use of office hours and campus resources, etc.

Join a Study Group

1. Form your study group. Fill out the below form and we'll connect you with other interested students. Study group can be formed for undergraduate courses, as well as exams such as MCAT or LSAT.

2. Find your study space. After being connected, discuss where to meet. You can use the many study spaces on campus or reserve study rooms (but make sure to do this early).

CSA Visiting & Exchange Student Network

What is the Visiting and Exchange Student Network (VESN)?

VESN is a network of Columbia College and SEAS students selected to serve as resources to Visiting & Exchange Students while facilitating social, cultural, and intellectual exchange. This program seeks to help students make the most of their time, both at Columbia and in New York City.

The Buddy program matches VESN students with visiting/exchange students to provide additional support and advise throughout the semester. Are you interested in being a "buddy" to a visiting/exchange student?

Hosted by VESN students, Community Meals provides weekly opportunities for Columbia and visiting/exchange students to connect over a meal through casual conversation (usually in a campus dining facility). Are you interested in hosting 1-2 Community Meals?
