GHD Intent to Return 2015-2016

Current GHDs that will still be full-time students in the 2015-2016 academic year are eligble to return as GHDs, pending performance of the 2014-2015 academic year.

Please fill out the following Intent to Return no later than Monday, February 9, 2015.

In your cover letter please make sure to note any RA or Residence Life experience, emergency crisis response experience, and supervisory experience. Please also make sure to highlight any experiences that may translate or be relevant to the GHD position as outlined in the Graduate Hall Director Position Description.
Please submit a letter of recommendation preferably from a current or former supervisor. This person should be able to speak to your organization and administrative abilities, your ability to supervise and advise students, and your ability to manage crisis. Please also provide the name and content information for your reference below. Note that we may contact them about your candidacy should we need further information.

Thank you for hosting programming during the Thanksgiving Break supplemented by the Office of International Student Programming and Services. We hope you found the funding useful to carry out your program and appreciate receiving feedback about your event.

Enter your best estimate of the exact number of attendees who participated in the majority of the program. (If someone stopped by for a few minutes, please do not count this number in your total.) Do not enter a numeric range as we will ask for a specific number when we follow-up.
This should include an itemized list and actual cost of each expenditure so we can determine the true cost of your event versus your initial proposal.

Senior Resident Adviser Application

To apply to be a Senior Resident Adviser you must be a CC or SEAS undergraduate student with gauranteed housing and at least one year of Resident Adviser experience at Columbia University.

Applications are due by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015

Individual interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis starting December 2, 2014 through January 21, 2015. Decisions will be made and candidates will be notified by 5:00 p.m. on January 23, 2015.

Why do you want to be a Senior Resident Adviser next year?
Detail some successes that you achieved this year in building a strong team amongst your current staff.
Please share with us your motivations for wanting to work with Hall Council. How can you, as a Senior RA support them in their success?
Describe a time when you had a miscommunication or disagreement with someone. How did you work to resolve that issue? What did you learn about yourself from this experience?
Detail other time commitments you plan to have while assuming the responsibilities of a SRA next year. Provide the title, organization, and time commitment, and explain how you will manage these activities while you are also serving in the SRAA role.
