Nueva Cancion y Demas

Nueva Canción y Demás is a one-hour exploration of protest and folk musics, with each show placing particular emphasis on the different styles and rhythms that have originated in a specific country or among a certain group of people. Both the old and the new converge in this program, with the only criterion for inclusion being high musicianship. On occasion, prominent artists passing through or residing in town are interviewed. The show aims to appeal not only to the area's large Hispanic population, but also to all those who feel the appeal of Latin music - and they are legion. The program is hosted both in Spanish and in English.

Nueva Canción y Demás is the new title for the "Música en Nueva York" program, perpetuating a tradition, started in the early seventies and still remembered by the public, of broadcasting Latin music on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday night basis.
