Continuation of last week's (4/3) Jazz til Dawn theme of Indian and Middle Eastern inspired jazz, however this broadcast differed in its focus on jazz of the aforementioned quality but written and performed by American musicians.
Today's show had three mini-themes: Negro spirituals, gospel quartets, and the gospel music of New Orleans. There was also a short feature dedicated to the Reverend Gary Davis, whose birthday is later in the month.
