This Sunday, we were joined in studio for a live set by Diablo. Diablo is Bob Bellerue's solo noise project. After the set, Bob and I talked about the evolution of Diablo and about the upcoming Ende Tymes Festival of Noise and Liberation. Bob is the creator, organizer, and curator for the Ende Tymes Festival, which is coming up this Friday through Sunday (June 24-26). The DIY festival is bringing together a wide range of some of the most talented noise and experimental musicians in the country, and is taking place at Silent Barn on 915 Wyckoff Avenue.

This show began by focusing on big bands, and then smaller ensembles, led by drummers. We listened to their solos in preparation for the tail end of the show, when duos between drummers and other instrumentalists were heard. Finally, the drum set was highlighted by the solo playing of luminaries like Andrew Cyrille, Milford Graves, and Newman Taylor Baker.
