Check out the online pilot for "Hobo's Lullaby"
Submitted by Malcolm Culleton on Tue, 6 Sep 2011, 9:05pm
The WKCR American Department is pleased to announce the creation of a new show: Hobo's Lullaby. The show will focus on the many music forms we now call "folk" or "roots", tracing that music's origins in Scotch Irish ballads, African work chants, and Spanish, French, and other Old World traditions. Each week, we will explore a different theme exhaustively, reconsidering music that may be familiar to us in a fresh and perhaps more accurate context. A trial period for Hobo's Lullaby will begin on Saturday, September 10th on WKCR's Real Audio stream. This weekend's show will be broadcast ON REAL AUDIO ONLY from 2 to 4 PM on Saturday afternoon. Please tune in and tell us what you think of the show!
