Musician's Show with Damon Banks: Wednesday, April 30th at 6pm

Listen this Wednesday at 6:00 pm to hear a special show co-hosted by Bronx-born bassist Damon Banks. Banks, who will be selecting the tunes for the evening, has played with a vast array of jazz’s most distinctive players, such as Chico Hamilton, Hubert Laws, Arto Lindsay, Bobby Womack, and Marc Ribot, and has written award-winning songs for the likes of George Benson and Miki Howard. He has performed music in a number of other categories, and his playing has even been featured on soundtracks to movies such as “Footsteps In Africa” and “Muppets from Space.” A dedicated and accomplished educator, he has taught and conducted workshops at institutions such as Cal Arts, Bard College, Interlochen School of the Arts, and Poughkeepsie Day School, where he is currently a faculty member. In 2003, he released his album “Travelguides,” a project incorporating the sounds of world, fusion, and experimental music.
