Submitted by Thuto Durkac Somo on Wed, 20 Jun 2012, 11:40pm
This Saturday's show will begin with Janacek's composition 'Osud' (Fate) with libretto by Fedora Bartosova. The Czech composer, and violinist wrote Osud in 1903-1904, and following several revisions, the opera was first performed at the Brno theater in October 25, 1958.
Manuel de Falla's 'Atlántida' was continually worked on by the Spanish composer between 1927-1946. Ernesto Halffter helped Falla complete 'Atléantida' through the end of Falla's life. The mythical opera describes the surfacing of the mythical continent Atlantis.
